Be the change you wish to see. Our heartfelt congratulations to everyone who is in the field of equine rescue and/or advocacy at any level, in any capacity. This site is a work in progress and is being created through the hard work of several individuals who want to make the world a better place for equines everywhere. Our budget is nil, everything we've done to date has been given gratis. As we go forward we're hoping to partner with sponsors who >get< what horses bring to humanity and wish to help us help all of you - through the best interactive features we can find! EC.org Board of Directors - Monday, June 6, 2010

We are absolutely pleased to report to you the first three members of the EquineConnection.org Board of Directors. Each is an amazing visionary in his or her field with a gift for having a positive outlook on behalf of equines.
They are:

• Michael Blowen, Founder of Old Friends thoroughbred stallion retirement facilities in Georgetown, KY and now New York as well. Michael came to the world of equine rescue from the backstretch by way of the Boston Globe where he served as their esteemed film critic until he retired to pursue his passion.

 

• Karen Murdock and her equine partner Lukas, "The World's Smartest Horse". Karen has been teaching Lukas dressage, dance moves, math and more since they've been together.

Karen says:
Lukas and I are honored to join the board of Equine Connection to promote equine assistance all over the world. We share the mission that everyone involved in horse rescue and/or welfare can interact directly with one another to further these efforts.

YOU decide who can see what! To form YOUR GROUP: 1. sign up/ log in 2. Click through the "My Apps" navigation link 3. slect "create new group" 4. Non-Profit Status Process - March 6, 2010

EquineConnection.org has begun the process of filing for 501(c)3 protection here in the

United States so we can become a non-profit corporation. In order to qualify we are having to put together a Business Plan ad assemble a Board of Directors. Additionally we're creating a top notch Steering Committee to help us keep in touch with every angle of equine advocacy.

I am so pleased to report that one amazingly gifted Board Member has stepped up and we're putting the final touches on the invitations for the others. Additionally three Steering Committee members have already come on board and they are an amazing trio from 3 completely different walks of life throughout the equine industry.

We'll be anouncing names and ive links to these wonderful people's endeavors as this process moves along. In the interim let me tell you how deep the support goes for the work YOU are doing! We may never all agree on exactly what good equine stewardship is nor what all the Best Practices are for interacting with them - but it appears when it comes to stepping up and being a part of the positive, whatever that is, we are all incredibly well supported here.
